Terms and Conditions

Welcome to True Blue Opals Pty Ltd (www.trueblueopals.com). By accessing or using our website and purchasing our products, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

General OverviewThis website is operated by True Blue Opals Pty Ltd. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to True Blue Opals Pty Ltd. We offer this website, including all information, tools, and services available from this site to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies, and notices stated here.

Products and DescriptionsWe strive to be as accurate as possible in our descriptions of rough raw opal, cut stones, and opal jewellery. However:

  • Natural Variations: Because opals are natural gemstones, colors and patterns may vary slightly from digital images.
  • Rough Opal: Buyers of rough opal acknowledge that the final outcome of a cut stone is not guaranteed, as internal characteristics are inherent to the raw material.

Visual Representation of Opals

  • Macro Photography and Video: All photos and videos on the website are captured in macro form to show detail. Customers must make specific note of the provided size and weight measurements, as the macro scale can make items appear larger than their actual physical dimensions.
  • Use of Water for Rough Opals: Videos and pictures of Rough and Prefinished Opals are typically taken with the stones immersed in or coated with water. This is a standard industry practice used to indicate the potential final look and colour of the opal once it has been polished.
  • Accuracy of Representations: While True Blue Opals takes the utmost care to provide accurate visual representations, natural variations in lighting and screen settings may cause minor differences between the digital image and the physical product.

Intellectual Property and Copyright

  • Ownership of Material: All photographs, videos, and graphical content on the website are the property of True Blue Opals Pty Ltd  and are protected by copyright.
  • Restrictions on Use: You may not copy, reproduce, republish, or distribute any visual material from the website for commercial purposes without express written permission.
  • Unauthorized Use: Any unauthorized use of the website’s visual content may result in the termination of access and potential legal action.

Additional Terms

  • Rough Parcel Returns: Rough Parcels cannot be returned or replaced if they have been altered in any way after purchase, regardless of the initial visual representation.
  • Insurance Requirements: Due to the high value of these items, an insurance purchase is required for all orders to cover potential loss or theft during transit.
  • Non-Refundable Charges: Shipping and handling charges remain non-refundable, and the purchaser is responsible for all return shipping costs.

Easy Returns & Refunds

 Return, Refund & Replace Policy

General Return Guidelines

We want you to be thrilled with your natural Australian opal. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may request a return or exchange under the following conditions:

  • Notification Period: You must contact us at True Blue Opals Pty Ltd within 7 days of receiving your order to initiate a return.
  • Condition: Items must be returned in their original, unaltered condition and in their original packaging.
  • Exclusions: We do not offer refunds for "change of mind" on items that have been used, worn, or modified.

Rough and Pre-finished OpalsDue to the nature of opal cutting, specific rules apply to Rough Opal, Rough Parcels, and Rubs:

  • No Alterations: Once you have touched the stone to a grinding wheel, saw, or any abrasive tool, it is considered yours. We cannot accept returns on rough material that has been cut, nipped, or rubbed back after purchase.
  • Visual Verification: We encourage you to inspect rough stones carefully (dry and wet) upon arrival. If the stone does not meet your expectations, return it immediately in its original state.

Refunds and Replacements

  • Damaged or Incorrect Items: If an item arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, please provide a photo and contact us immediately. We will offer a full refund or a replacement of equal value, subject to availability.
  • Processing Time: Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. Approved refunds will be processed via your original payment method within 5-7 business days.

Shipping and Insurance

  • Return Shipping: The buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs unless the item was sent in error or arrived damaged.
  • Insurance: Because opals are high-value items, we strongly recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service for returns. We cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item, and we are not liable for items lost in transit.
  • Non-Refundable: Original shipping and handling charges are non-refundable.

Custom Orders and Jewellery

  • Final Sale: Any custom-cut stones or bespoke jewellery pieces created specifically for you are considered Final Sale and are not eligible for return or exchange unless there is a clear manufacturing defect.
